Hale Appleman (born January 17, 1986) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Eliot Waugh on the Syfy fantasy series The Magicians and as Tobey Cobb in the short-lived NBC drama Smash.
Appleman's career began with guest appearances on television shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Beautiful People. He made his film debut in Mysterious Skin in 2004. He has since appeared in films such as Teeth and Private Romeo.
He has also worked extensively in theatre, appearing in several off-Broadway productions. Appleman's performance as Eliot Waugh in The Magicians earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.
